Fabulous!!! We had a wonderful time, saw beautiful sites, lots of history, enjoyed the company of our guides and travel friends, and had lots of fun in the process!! Our tour guides worked very hard to accommodate our every need, and put in a lot of extra effort to put in local flavor in each country, and were extremely knowledgeable and eagerly shared their knowledge, which made our trip that much more action packed, beneficial, and enjoyable!! We will definitely travel with Gate 1 in the future, and will highly recommend Gate 1 to our friends!! Thank you for all of your help with our bookings!!

Just returned from a 10 day escorted tour to Ireland, May 15-24. The tour was very well organized. The tour manager, Anne Marie is a very loving, caring, knowledgeable person who took good care of us the moment we set foot on the hotel upon our arrival to Ireland, till the very last moment of our stay when we received our Covid test result. Her going the extra 10,000 miles to be there for each and every tour participant is a tremendous feat I will never forget. I generally am not one to reply to surveys but I was so impressed with our tour guide Maureen that I felt I should give her a thumbs up. She was by far the most organized, friendly, knowledgeable tour guide I have ever had. She had detailed information at every stop and all places in between. Talking with others in our group I think she was the key into transforming a vacation into a great vacation and memorable experience. The experience was way above a simple self guided vacation and well worth the cost of a discovery tour. I would highly recommend this vacation because not only is Ireland beautiful and the people friendly but the tour with Maureen was excellent.

Gate 1's tour guide on the 16 Day Scotland and Ireland was a tribute to your superior offerings; David may be one of your Gate 1's most valuable assets, and he is most definitely one of your best tour guides. Yes, Gate 1's offerings were superior: the stops in both Scotland and Ireland were perfect; the bus was immaculate; and the hotels and their locations were excellent. But, it was David's extraordinary abilities and talents that made the trip truly exceptional. He possessed all the qualities that I have come to expect from Gate 1 tour guides: knowledgeable of the history of the countries and sites visited as well as knowledgeable about local offerings; organized; personable, interesting, and approachable. What sets David heads above the rest is his attention to detail (writing our names on both sides of the name tags so that the name could always be seen); arranging extras along the tour to accommodate requests; giving so freely of his time to ensure that travelers had a good time during independent time; solving problems that clearly were not in his domain, such as clearing dinner dishes and serving coffee and desert when the hotel staff could not due so because of a shortage of workers; etc. What was phenomenal was David's passion for his work: he did not rest until each and every traveler felt that David was his own tour guide and he made sure each traveler was made to feel special, genuinely liked, and cared for come what might. And as if all that was not enough, he was so entertaining and witty that he must surely hone these skills by endlessly practicing. David was "Simply the Best," and therefore Gate 1's Scotland and Ireland trip was as well. Kudos to David for a job well done, and Kudos to Gate 1.

John , the tour manager, far exceeded our expectations. I already gave him an outstanding rating on the Gate 1 questionnaire but wanted to make the effort to give him a special commendation. The driver, Tom, was also excellent. The hotels were over-the-top excellent. Even the local guides were excellent. My wife and I actively recommend Gate 1 to our friends. Most say they have never heard of Gate 1 but will look into it when they travel. We will book again with Gate 1 and even try to connect with the same tour manager.

I want to thank Lennie, our tour director, for all his friendliness, kindness, knowledge, and overall helpfulness. He was about as good as it gets when it comes to tour guides. He was always there if we had a concern or a problem and was very accessible. He was very pleasant and knowledgeable about every aspect of our tour. Our bus driver Mike was excellent as well, and they worked very well as a team. To sum it up, my daughters and I thought the tour was spectacular, unparalleled, and "electric"!

My daughter and I had a wonderful time on our recent Gate1 adventure to Ireland. This was my third Gate 1 trip and her first, and everything worked liked clockwork from beginning to end; even the weather was fantastic. Our tour manager Matthew was the best. He was courteous, helpful and knowledgeable and shared many interesting stories of Ireland and life there. Our bus drivers Lee and Dan were skilled and careful and made sure we arrived everywhere safely. Its no easy feat driving a bus on those narrow roads but they did it well. The hotels on this trip were well located and we could walk from our hotels to the various town centres, pubs and attractions. What an incredible trip I had. Anne Marie our guide was excellent! She was friendly and efficient and attended to everyone's needs and we were a large group! Tony the bus driver was an incredible driver. Always got us around to places on time if not a little early and once down a narrow road he had to reverse the bus to get us out as we couldn't take the route. Everyone clapped when he completed the task without breaking a sweat. Also always friendly and courteous helping ladies down off the bus. I was impressed with all the hotels. The accommodations were better than expected and helpful. All close to the center of everything so we could walk to many sites to visit. I will certainly use Gate 1 again and I have already recommended the company to many of my friends!

The 9 day affordable Ireland Tour was not only my 1st Gate1 tour but my first trip outside the United States and I could not have been more pleased. My expectations with the quality of the hotels and meals provided as well as the tours planned were all well exceeded. I know that Gate1 didn't have any control over the weather but for off season in Ireland we had the most beautiful weather; very little rain and wind and the temps were not bad at all, and on the day that we went to the Cliffs of Moher it was blue skies and sunshine! The best part of the trip was probably the underlying support of our tour manager, Linda and coach driver Sean. They were both the cream of the crop when it comes to customer service. Linda not only did a fantastic job leading the tour and providing us with historical, fun and informative information but she also was caring of each person in the group and was the mother hen making sure all her chicks were doing well throughout. It wasn't obvious, but with my background I know that she worked hard to make sure that things were organized and smooth and dealt with issues so that we would not even know there might have been problems. Sean was amazing as well. It takes a special talent to navigate a huge bus on the narrow roads and tight corners and small town streets in Ireland and he did a superb job. He kept our coach clean, was friendly and always had a smile. Having these two as the foundation for the tour made the travel and memories just that much more special. I will definitely look to Gate1 first when considering my next vacation!

Just returned from my first Gate 1 tour (12 Day Kaleidoscope of Ireland) and am now committed to Gate 1! This tour was the best I have ever taken and I have traveled with numerous other companies before. The hotels were ALL centrally located and top notch. Our Tour Director was friendly, helpful and extremely knowledgeable about Ireland as a whole, not just certain cities. Our 16 day Scotland/Ireland tour was over the top wonderful. Our tour manager, Patrick, is the perfect guy for this job. He took total care of us from the minute we arrived at the hotel in Edinburgh until the morning we left Dublin for the airport. I cant say enough wonderful things about him. He shared so many stories that made the history of the beautiful cities come alive. He was an expert on the ancient history as well as current events in both countries. Since my ancestors come from both Scotland and Ireland, every single part of the tour was exceptionally relevant for me. He also shared music from both countries which made the long bus intervals fly by. He was knowledgeable about so many different aspects of the culture. the peoples and why this happened and why that happened. I only wish my former history teachers could have done as good a job as Patrick. Also our driver, Bryan, was also over the top wonderful. How he maneuvered that huge bus down those narrow lanes and around the mountain curves was amazing! and the hotels were also over the top wonderful. Overall our favorite tour so far and we plan to travel many more times with Gate 1 Travel.

My trip was wonderful. I really enjoyed the structure of the trip and what was included. I typically book my own itineraries so I appreciated the amount of free time. I did not want to drive in Ireland but wanted to cover a lot of ground so this trip was the best of both worlds. Patrick was a perfect guide. I enjoyed his stories and facts as we drove along. He was very accommodating for the group and really made sure everyone was enjoying themselves. I certainly learned a lot from him. Eddie was a fantastic driver. I don't know how he got that bus around the curves of the Ring of Kerry! Very impressive. He was also so sweet and goofy. My travel buddy and I agree that he made our trip! I can't say enough things about Patrick and Eddie.

We had a fantastic trip to Ireland. This was the first trip to Europe for my children (11,12) and we couldn't have had a better first experience. From our arrival in Ireland with the help to navigate the St. Patrick's Day parade, to the shuttle back to the airport at 5:30 AM a week later was great. Edwina, our guide and TJ the driver were both fantastic. Edwina made the trip interesting and fun and taught a history lesson on the way that even my kids found interesting and not over done. The accommodations were nice and always in the best areas for pubs and shopping. Edwina's recommendations for food and entertainment were always on target and made the experience even better. This was our second travel experience with Gate 1 and it certainly won't be the last. Thank you for such a wonderful Spring Break trip to Ireland for my family.
