Supplies:

  • Mini terra cotta pots
  • Acrylic craft paint
  • Small-scale brushes
  • Painter's tape

Instructions:

1. Purchase terracotta pots. Terracotta pots are typically the cheapest at domicile comeback stores, but the smallest size they carry is usually 4 or half-dozen inches. I wanted tiny pots, then I went to my local arts and crafts store. They are still very inexpensive, though; for three pots, I just spent a few dollars.

2. Paint the base color on each pot. I painted the large and modest pots black. Then, because I wanted a bit of a contrast, I painted the medium pot off white.

3. Once the pigment is completely dry, tape a pattern onto each pot. I decided to do a gold geometric-blazon design on the big and small black pots, so I used painter'south record to tape a triangle shape onto each. For the medium off white pot, I painted the pot'southward lip, so I taped that off.

Tip: When I utilise acrylic paint, I like to pare the painter's tape off immediately after painting while the pigment is all the same wet. This helps to ensure super crisp paint lines. Then, if I need a second glaze, I'll either reapply the tape or just use a very pocket-size brush to paint in the areas that need more coverage.
